App: Plant Passage
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Plant Passage is a plant journal that stays on your phone.
What stays on your phone
Plants, names, notes, care logs, reminders, and photos stay on the device. The app has no account and no sign-in. It does not use tracking, ads, or analytics.
Reminders are scheduled on the phone. They are not sent through a push service.
You can export a backup file. That file stays on the phone unless you choose to share it. The app does not upload it.
What leaves the phone
Weather is the exception.
If you allow location, the app reads an approximate position while it is open (about a kilometer, not a street address) and sends those coordinates to Open-Meteo over ordinary HTTPS to load a forecast. Indoor plants do not need location.
If you type a city instead, that city name is sent to Open-Meteo so it can find the forecast.
Open-Meteo is a weather service. The app does not send your name, photos, or plant notes with that request.
Home screen widget
If you add the iPhone home screen widget, the app copies one growth photo into a shared folder on the phone so the widget can show it. Unless you turn on Hide plant names, that plant’s name is copied there too. The copy stays on the phone. It is removed when that photo is no longer the one on the widget. It is not uploaded.
